I received my BFA in Photography and a BA in Creative Writing from Arizona State University, where my interest began in large-format and alternative process photography, with a particular focus on historical photographic techniques. These delicate practices required patience and skill, further refining my approach to landscape and portraiture in particular.
Aside from my work as a visual artist, I've established myself as a seasoned wedding, engagement, portrait and lifestyle photographer based in the Finger Lakes region of New York, and available for worldwide travel.
I am always in search of a muse and a story that inspires. Through wedding photography, I have found a natural avenue to tell a visual story of the romance between two people in love.
Michael and I met years ago at a Christmas party that my parents hosted. Seeming to know there was something special between us, he encouraged me to get out of our small hometown and explore the world. Travel. Skydive. Scuba dive. To learn, meet, and experience as much as I possibly could...to never settle for anything less than being treated like a queen...and (here's the good part!) that if I couldn't find anyone good enough, then he would always be in our hometown waiting to marry me.
With that promise in mind, I did all the things he said. Traveled to Europe, lived all over the country, jumped out of airplanes, and dove 100 ft in the ocean. But I could never find anyone like Michael.
And so, I found my way back to New York. Without skipping a beat, we were married on a warm summer day on Skaneateles Lake. Together we travel the world, shooting weddings and sharing our happiness with those around us...always with adventure and love. ...and he treats me like a queen!
